Registrations are now open for the 6th Crypto Asset Lab Conference, which will take place on 22 January 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and on 23 January, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Aula Luisella Sironi U4-08, Piazza della Scienza 4, Milan.
The Crypto Asset Lab Conference is a joint research initiative of the Department of Business and Law at the University of Milano-Bicocca, the Digital Gold Institute, and the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission.
This year’s edition will focus on stablecoins, with particular attention to the interaction between traditional finance (TradFi) and decentralized finance (DeFi).
The conference will be structured over two days:
The first day will be dedicated to the presentation of scientific papers. Keynote Speaker: Professor Lars Hornuf (Dresden University of Technology).
On the second day, financial industry professionals, academics, and regulatory representatives will discuss the topic of stablecoins and the impact of DeFi on TradFi. Keynote Speaker: Leonardo Gambacorta (BIS). This will be followed by an industry speech by S. Rossi (PwC Italy) and the roundtable “Exploring the path to convergence – the journey to the TradFi and DeFi Merger,” featuring Mediobanca, WisdomTree, Intesa Sanpaolo, Prof. Annunziata (Bocconi), Prof. Fantacci (UniMi), Fabrick, and Banca Sella.
