The United States and the European Union have thus far adopted different approaches to striking a balance between technological innovation and privacy.

The seminar aims to explore the legal issues related to the collection and use of particularly sensitive data, such as genome and brain activity data, highlighting the conundrums that arise when these data are collected by private companies, considering the subject primarily as a consumer and user.

On this journey, we will be guided by Professor Robert Field of Drexel University in Philadelphia, who has dedicated his research to exploring the intersections between law and technology.
