The roundtable “Health Data and Technological Innovation: Between the Right to Health and Data Protection” is a joint initiative of the Interest Group on Health and International Law of the Italian Society of International Law (SIDI)and the TecSEDU Lab (Emerging Technologies, Society, Ethics & Human Rights Lab) at the University of Milano-Bicocca.
The event brings together scholars and experts to examine the evolving governance of health data in the age of digitalization and emerging technologies.
Drawing on perspectives from the World Health Organization, the Council of Europe, and the European regulatory landscape, the discussion will address key issues such as data access for research, privacy protection, neural data governance, and the role of technological innovation in safeguarding the right to health in an aging society. The aim is to foster an interdisciplinary dialogue that highlights opportunities, risks, and regulatory challenges for the protection of fundamental rights in today’s digital health ecosystem.
