Research and Third Mission Quality Assurance

The Department has established a Quality Assurance Group for Research, composed as follows.

Group for Research Quality Assurance:

The Group is tasked with monitoring and promoting quality policy at the Department level, identifying necessary corrective actions, and verifying their implementation. Specifically, the QA Group for Research:

  • Constantly monitors the progress of scientific production and the impact of research activities conducted by Department members, also for the allocation of resources to support and promote research activities.
  • Assists the Director in defining the Department's Three-Year Planning Document and in its monitoring.
  • Coordinates the collection of information related to the scientific production of Department members useful for the participation of the Department and the university in Research Quality Assessment (VQR) campaigns.

Group for Third Mission Quality Assurance

The Group is tasked with monitoring and promoting Third Mission activities carried out by Department members, identifying potential issues, implementing improvements, and monitoring the outcomes over time. Additionally, the QA Group for Third Mission:

  • Collaborates with the Director and the QA Group for Research in defining the Department's Three-Year Planning Document and its annual monitoring.
  • Manages the collection of information related to Third Mission activities conducted by Department members, useful for the Department's and the university's participation in Research Quality Assessment (VQR) campaigns.

Teaching Quality Assurance

 In line with the actions proposed by the University, the control and monitoring of the quality of teaching provided by the Department are entrusted to the Quality Assurance (QA) of Teaching. The QA of Teaching is responsible for:

  • Coordinating and monitoring the actions of the Quality Assurance officers for bachelor's and master's degree courses;
  • Analyzing the SUA-cds, the Annual Monitoring Form, and the Cyclical Review Report of the various degree courses within the Department;
  • Monitoring student career progression, their opinions on educational activities, their satisfaction at the end of the educational path, and the employment status of graduates, also through the analysis of external databases;
  • Facilitating the verification of consistency between the educational activities proposed by each degree course and job market demands through regular meetings with labor market representatives;
  • Acquiring and analyzing the reports of the Joint Committee of Teachers and Students;
  • Analyzing the Annual Report of the Evaluation Unit;
  • Identifying any corrective actions or improvement interventions following the above activities and proposing them to the Teaching Coordination Council.
